Jacob’s Cattle beans are an heirloom of Prince Edward Island from Eastern Canada. It has a distinctive, white and maroon-mottled colour on a white coat.
Jacob’s Cattle Bean makes quite a nice snap bean sweet and fresh before the seeds mature for winter storage. It has a rich nutty flavour with a dense and meaty texture. Excellent for baking and soups.
Frost tender annual grown here in Melbourne, will grow to about 60cm tall, once mature pick every 5 to 7 days or plant will stop producing pods.
