Longan produces sweet tasting fruits which are similar to lychee and rambutan, but less aromatic in taste. It is native to tropical Asia and China, and is named Longan (from Cantonese lùhng-ngáahn 龍眼, literally ‘dragon’s eye’), as the seeds resembles an eyeball.
