Silverbeet is a great leafy vegetable, rich in vitamin K and a great plant for your vegie patch. It is heat and cold tolerant and grows well over the winter period in milder climates.
- Sow seed about 12mm deep
- Seeds take about 10 to 14 days to germinate
- Thinning can commence when about 100mm tall
- Silverbeet prefers a slightly alkaline soil with at least a pH of 6 or above
- Needs well-drained, well composted soil that has the addition of animal manures
- 1 tsp. of seed per pack
