Silverbeet is a great leafy vegetable, rich in vitamin K and a great plant for your vegie patch. It is heat and cold tolerant and grows well over the winter period in milder climates.

  • Sow seed about 12mm deep
  • Seeds take about 10 to 14 days to germinate
  • Thinning can commence when about 100mm tall
  • Silverbeet prefers a slightly alkaline soil with at least a pH of 6 or above
  • Needs well-drained, well composted soil that has the addition of animal manures
  • 1 tsp. of seed per pack
