Approximately 8-10 seeds per 25gms.

Santalum spicatum seeds or native sandalwood, harvested from native sandalwood farm in WA. Grows well even in well-drained poor soils. Avoid heavy clay soils or ensure to improve drainage before planting. Sensitive to phosphorus. Sandalwood is a hemiparasitic plant; it needs a host tree to support its growth.  Suitable hosts include Acacia acuminata or similarly sized Acacia trees. Other native plant genera, such as Myoporum, Allocasuarina, Senna, can be used as hosts. A lemon or lime tree can also be used as a host.

The tree can grow 3 to 5 meters in height and about 2 to 3 meters wide. The nuts are edible, and mature trees (about 20 years old) are harvested for their wood to extract sandalwood oil.
