Lilac Chaste Tree seeds

Vitex agnus-castus

An ornamental shrub that grows between 1 to 5m tall with aromatic, long-lasting blooms. Plants are drought and frost hardy once established. A hard cut back is required during Winter which will encourage bushier growth.

Sowing instructions:

Can be direct sown outdoors or sown in punnets 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Seed should be sown 5mm deep and 30-45cm apart. Seed must be kept moist and warm for germination to occur.

Plant information:

Seedlings emerge 10-14 days after sowing and can then be planted outside after they have grown a couple of inches tall.

Plants grow to 1-5m tall and 3m wide (depending on pruning for shape).

Plants should be pruned to about 1m in Winter as they flower on new wood in Spring.
