The Kakai is a variety of hull-less seed pumpkin, also known as a ‘pepita’ pumpkin, grown primarily for the edible seeds. The 1-2kg fruit ripen to a smooth orange with some green markings and are full of ready-to-eat seeds. The mildly flavoured flesh is suitable for use in soups and stews.
