Salad Burnet Herb (Sanguisorba Minor) – The Hardiest Kitchen Herb
Salad Burnet is a wonderful and highly ornamental kitchen herb. The beautiful rosettes form soft little clumps of fern-like foliage and produce drumstick-like flower heads with small pink flowers.
Despite their delicate appearance, these plants are TOUGH. They can grow in the heaviest of clay soils, endure -7C frosts and 40C heatwaves, and need very little supplemental watering throughout.
Their flavour is a lightly nutty cucumber-like fresh green taste. The coin-sized serrated leaflets make an appealing garnish and a great addition to salads, sandwiches and dressings.
They are not well-suited to growing in a pot as they stay small and stunted with restricted root growth. As they self-seed well they should be planted with consideration for potential spread.
Each order will be for 0.25g of seed, approx 30 seeds.
Please do not purchase with a shipping address in WA, TAS, SA or NT. For biosecurity reasons I only ship to QLD, NSW and VIC.
