Grow your own Indigo Blue dye! This species is common to Japan and China. Indigo leaves were a common textile dye used on Silk, Cotton, Linen and Wool through an oxidation process (sounds more complicated than it is). They are why jeans are blue! These seeds are harvested from my own backyard where I don’t use any chemical pesticides, only natural fertilisers. The images are from where the seeds were harvested. There are many online resources of how to prepare the dye once grown. It is best to start the dye process just before they start flowering. Sow seeds shallowly and provide warmth, light and even moisture in Spring. They do not do well with frost and very cold climates.
