Got something to discuss?
Hello. Just wanted to check that these persicaria seeds are fresh???
Hi Jill, yes these seeds are fresh. They were harvested this year but will still need to be/ recommended to be planted within a year due to the nature of the plant.
thank you so much for sharing these and for the information you sent! i had been looking for some for a while. I look forward trying to recreate some of your beautiful colours <3
Hi Olivia, thank you so much for your comment! It is definitely a long process but such an exciting journey 🙂 please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any issues.
Hi, how do you think they would fare in Southeast Qld? And how long do they take to grow?
Hi Kat, I have grown them in Cairns and Melbourne so they are quite resilient. Just make sure they are not in direct sun all day and they will need plenty of water in the summer. They take about a week or two to germinate (in your climate) and will be fully grown in about 6-7 months approximately. If you are using them for dyeing, around this time is when you can expect your first harvest and then you can trim them down for a second harvest. Hope this helps!
Do the seeds need to be soaked prior to planting?
Hi Vicki,
The seeds don’t need to be soaked 🙂 just plant them shallow in moist soil
Hi, Will you be restocking these seeds? Thank kindly. Gaye
Hi Gaye, thank you for your interest! I hope to restock these around June/July when I harvest my next lot of seeds 🙂
Hi Gaye, I just wanted to let you know that I have restocked the indigo seeds. Please note that the quantity of seeds in each order has decreased to 20 due to limited supply.
Will there be more seeds soon?
Hi Anatta, thank you for your interest! I do have more seeds now and I will do my best to have them online by next week. I will respond to your message again when they are back 😊
Fantastic!
Hi Anatta, I just wanted to let you know that I have restocked! 🙂 Please note that the quantity of seeds in each order has decreased to 20 due to limited supply.
Hi, I have a 2×2 m plot, not sure how many seeds to buy as I don’t know how close to plant.
Can you recommend please?
Thanks
Hi there, I think 1 x pack of 25 seeds will be plenty to sow and experiment! Planting instructions will be included in the order but please let me know if you would like more detailed instructions on planting before you buy 🙂
Hi Celina, I sowed two lots of seeds 3&2 weeks ago, and none have come up. I bought the bulk 100 pack, and was hoping to have enough to do some dye classes. My other seeds have a fine germination rate from it, if maybe a little slow (mix of flowers and veg(. Is there still hope for my seeds? How long should I wait before giving up?
Hi, Thank you for reaching out. Indigo seeds should germinate within 2 weeks, however, if it has been very cold recently, or the soil has dried out then it may be a bit slower. They enjoy well fertilized and very moist soil (they can be very thirsty plants). I would leave them for a bit longer and ensure the soil stays moist to see if they will germinate, potentially add some seaweed fertilizer to boost nutrients. Some of my seeds have germinated like weeds (between concrete, in only water, in an outdoor rug etc.) so they are quite resilient. Please feel free to email me directly with images and I’ll be happy to help you out 🙂
