Eriobotrya japonica – Loquat (pack of 20).

The Loquat is an evergreen tree, graced with glossy, deep-green leaves and a rounded canopy. Adorned with fragrant white flowers, it matures into a bearer of succulent, orange-yellow fruits. This tree is a dual delight, offering both ornamental beauty and a harvest of delectable fruits.

Size:
Mature trees typically reach a height of 6 to 9 meters, with a similar spread, making it an ideal addition to various landscapes.

Habitat:
Thriving in mild temperate climates, Loquats exhibit adaptability to different soil types. They prefer well-draining soil and thrive in full sun to partial shade.

Time to Fruit Maturity: From seed, Loquats typically take 3 to 5 years to reach maturity and start bearing fruit.
Transplanting: Once seedlings have several leaves, transplant them to larger containers or directly into the garden.

PROPAGATION NOTES:

For great results refrigerate your seeds for 1-2 weeks before sowing. This emulates an over-wintering effect that helps with germination rates.

Sow seeds in a free-draining seed-raising mix.

A good general rule to follow is to sow seeds at a depth relative to the size of the seed.

(Eucalyptus seeds require a light dusting of soil as their seeds are usually tiny. Warrigal Greens require a 50mm to 100mm depth.)

Keep moist, water daily until germination in 3-6 weeks at a minimum of 15° Celsius.

Reduce your watering amount once germination has occurred.

Sow at any time of the year.

*The pack includes 20 seeds. We are experiencing an +90% germination rate with these seeds under ideal conditions.
