Woad – Isatis Tinctoria seeds
From my Garden16Salisbury North, South Australia, Australia
$3.50
Woad, (Isatis tinctoria), biennial or perennial herb in the mustard family.
Grown all over the world for centuries as a source of the blue dye indigo. Pretty yellow flowers appear in Summer. Self seeds readily (can become a weed in some situations) or seeds can be collected for future plantings. Lots of information available on the internet on how to use the fresh leaves or create Indigo dye. Easy care and easy to grow it forms a rosette of bright green roughly oval shaped leaves. Plant in Spring. Soaking seeds prior to planting is suggested as the seeds have a protective coating.
