Tasmannia lanceolata – 20+ seeds

Handpicked from the most productive wild trees growing natively on our farm in the NW Tasmanian highlands.

Grow notes:

Native Tasmanian shrub or small tree 3-4m
Full-sun to moderate shade.
Grows natively in moist rainforest understory with dappled light but trees that get more sun are a lot more productive.
Occasionally reaching heights of 10 m in the rainforest but more like 3-4m in most situations.
Very receptive to pruning.
Prefers rich, moist soil.
Excellent windbreak tree

Native pepper substitute

Mature trees can bear several kilograms of fruit per tree per year (that’s heaps of pepper)

Sow 2mm deep in full sun to part shade. Seeds can take 6 months to germinate. Benefits from cold stratification prior to sowing and they are dioecious so you will need multiple to ensure you get pollination.

** we grow all seeds ourselves (organically!) and don’t resell at Mountain Fields Farm **
