The Red Flanders Poppy, also known as the corn poppy or Papaver rhoeas, is an annual flowering plant that is native to Europe and Asia but has been naturalized in many parts of the world, including North America. It is a member of the Papaveraceae family, which also includes other popular garden plants such as oriental poppies and Iceland poppies.

Red Flanders Poppy is a relatively easy plant to grow, and it is often grown as a wildflower or as a decorative garden plant. It typically grows to a height of 12-30 inches (30-75 cm) and produces showy, vibrant red flowers that are about 2-4 inches (5-10 cm) in diameter. The flowers have four petals and a distinctive black spot at the base of each petal, which is believed to serve as a guide for pollinators.

Red Flanders Poppy prefers well-draining soil and full sun but can tolerate some shade. It is drought-tolerant and can thrive in a variety of soil types, including poor soils. The plant produces its flowers in late spring and early summer and can continue to bloom for several weeks.
