Pennyroyal is a small, groundcover perennial with glossy green leaves. It reaches a height of only 15cm and has a spreading nature. Native to Europe and Asia, it particularly likes to grow in shady position or moist spots.

Pennyroyal is an ideal groundcover, which is also highly aromatic. It is an excellent insecticide as its strong flavor helps to keep mosquitos away! It is a great companion plant for the home and garden as it controls a wide range of crawling, flying and sucking insects.

Mix half a cup of pennyroyal leaves with one cup of vegetable oil, and store in a warm spot for a day. Spray the emulsion on ant trails, garden leaves and even dog kennel or collar to repel insects and fleas. Do not consume as it may have side effects on human.
