Onion Amposta Purple seeds
Gatherer Forager farmJudds creek road, Judbury, Tasmania, Australia
$4.50
Popular heirloom onion variety produces medium-sized red/purple onions that are mildly sweet in flavour, making them an excellent choice for eating raw in salads or sandwiches. This onion is an intermediate-day variety, so it would need an average amount of daylight to start forming its bulbs, approximately 12-14 hours.
Sow this variety in the early spring to allow the plants to grow to a decent size before the bulb formation begins, as bigger plants will mean bigger bulbs.
Aiming for 100% open pollinated and Organically grown in the Huon
