Barbarea verna (may also include Barbarea vulgaris)
300+ seeds, sow in spring, summer and autumn
Biennial to around 60cm. Prefers cool, moist soil, partial shade, but is extremely hardy. The tap root is great in clay so long as it doesn’t completely dry out.
The peppery green leaves can be used in salads, and the flowers can also be eaten. Provides leafy greens all year round and is a great substitute for watercress.
Readily self seeds, great for weed suppression and chop-and-drop mulching.
Other names: upland cress, American cress
NOTE:
We only post seeds Friday each week, orders by Thurs (express post not recommended)
