Cape Milkweed Cotton Bush Swan Plant Thick  is a perennial herb or shrublet 0.5-1.5 m tall. The leaves of Gomphocarpus cancellatus Swan Plant Broad Leaf Milkweed also (Cape Milkweed) are broadly egg-shaped rounded at the base with a pointed end. The branches, stems and leaves vary and are hairy. Many  flowers are carried in dense, ball-shaped inflorescences. The flower petals appear pale mauve, green greyish, and cream to white on the inside. Photos of my own actual plant growing in Adelaide SA in gallery.  The seed pod is swan shaped  The mature fruit bursts open and releases the brown seeds. Each seed has a coma which is a tuft of white hairs attached at one end or floss.

They grow quite easily from fresh seed and the best way to grow. In nature plants grow in sand, rocky ground, and  clay. Lighly cover seed with soil and vermiculite, moist but not too wet. Direct or pots.
This plant is native to South Africa and some parts of North Africa
