Jalapeño Chilli – Blunt ended fruit with thick flesh growing up to 8cm. Very popular variety; can be used fresh or dried, raw or cooked. Dried, they are known as chipotle chilies. Normally picked green but can be left to mature red. Medium heat. Very popular in Mexican cuisine. Jalapeños measure 2,500–8,000 on the Scoville scale .
Details: Select a wide, open sunny aspect, with good drainage, to plant your seedlings directly into the ground. summer. Chilli plants need warmth and light, loose soil, water and fertilizer to do well. Chili seeds need at least 20 °C constant heat to germinate. The germination rate is higher if you use a mini greenhouse.
