If you’re looking for a fast growing and tough plant for a tropical look in cooler climates this is the one for you. The parent plant is a hybrid of Hibiscus hetrophyllus. It has large pale pink flowers with a dark magenta pink centre. The flowers appear white from a distance and the pale pink lightens as the flower ages.
The flowers don’t last long, a couple of days at most, but there is a constant supply of new buds on the plant throughout summer. Grow it in a full sun to part shade location in subtropical and temperate climates. Established plants will tolerate light frosts with some foliage loss and will recover when warmer weather returns.

Sow seeds in trays or punnets 3-5mm deep. You can rub the seeds lightly over sandpaper to help thin the protective seed coating, this will improve germination rates. Keep warm (minimum 20 degrees C) and moist until germination, which takes 2-6 weeks. Raise the seedlings in a protected dappled or full shade location until they have 3-4 sets of leaves or are 20cm high, then gradually increase their sunlight exposure over a few weeks before planting out in their final location. Water regularly until established.

There are 25 seeds in this package. Your hibiscus plants will reach up to 2m high and 1.5m wide in just two years! As these seeds are from a hybrid, results are variable. There is no guarantee that plants grown from seed will be the same as the parent plant. That’s why we supply plenty of seeds so that you can choose your favourites to plant out after they have germinated.
