Amaranthus tricolour

Young leaves can be used in a salad and larger leaves can be cooked like a spinach. A fantastic leafy green for warm, dry seasons.

Sowing instructions:

Can be direct sown outdoors in early Spring to early Summer, or sown in punnets.

Seed should be sown 6mm deep and 15-20cm apart. Keep soil moist.

Can be grown all year round in the tropics.

Plant information:

Seedlings emerge 7-10 days after sowing.

Plants grow up to 1m tall and 0.5m wide (depending on plant spacing).

Leaves can be harvested from around 5 weeks after sowing. Whole plants can be harvested 9 weeks after sowing.

Pinching growing tips out will make the plant bushier.

Plants can be sown every 2-4 weeks for successive harvests.

Approx 100 seeds in a packet.
