African Birdseye Chilli – Piri Piri seeds

Small but powerful, these small chillies are HOT!

Drought tolerant.  Approx 20 seeds per packet.

Eat fresh, dried then flaked or ground, freeze or preserve in oil.

This chilli will give you a bountiful harvest all year long in South-east Queensland and performs like a perrenial ( My piri piri chilli bush is more than 13 years old!)  Nearly always has fresh chillies ripening, mature chillies drying and buds and flowers all at the same time. Grows to over 6ft tall.  Responds well to a hard prune ever few years.  Germinates easily in warm weather.  Old timers say this chilli is so hot that they named it twice.

(Picture was taken at the end of a very dry summer and this chilli bush gets no water other than natural rainfall, hence the yellowing foliage, when rainfall is higher it gets lots of tiny lush green leaves. )
