Established mature large clumping perennial with dark green leaves. Spikes of flowers to 2m during the summer months. Protect from snails and slugs. Height to 2m. Fertile moist soil and takes some shade. Showing front garden where they grow on mass. Plants die down after flowering in summer. Trimmed back to ground level. Regrowth is quick and plant also known as Bear’s Breeches or Oyster Plant. Acanthus is only pollinated by bees. Can be invasive….remove all the rhyzome when young plants appear.
