Hesperocyparis glabra, also known as Arizona smooth-bark cypress, is a fast-growing conifer. It is highly resistant to cypress canker and is currently listed as near-threatened. It has deep green foliage with a slight bluish hue and a reddish trunk. Looks great as a feature tree or perfect as a wind breaker. The tree grows to about 20 M and 4 M wide in ideal conditions. In other conditions, it can reach a height of 12 M and about 4 M wide. This species would also be great for making bonsai specimens. They are well-suited for cooler climates or climates with dry hot summers, with very cold nights and prefer full sunlight and grow in well-drained or rocky soils.
The seeds were harvested from a tree in Armidale, NSW, in August 2025. They will be viable for about 5 years if kept in a cold place, i.e. fridge.
Each packet would contain about 250 seeds.
