A species of saltbush grows into a large woody shrub which is sometimes known as Oldman Saltbush.
Extremely hardy and can thrive in very harsh environments. Tolerates saline and alkaline soils.
The seeds of this plant have been used traditionally as a food source they were eaten on their own or incorporated into meals.
Other uses include windbreaks, shade for stock, hedge, firebreak and soil binding.
