Pigeon Pea is a perennial legume commonly grown as a food crop in Asia. It grows in anto a bush with a lifespan of three to five years. As a legume they are nitrogen fixers and can assist improving the soil. They are tolerant of dry climates and do well in the arid as well as tropical climates.
I use the leaves and branches as a green manure adding them to my compost pile as well as around the base of my fruiting trees. As chicken forage leaves have 20-25% protein.
My pigeon pea seeds are grown organically, freshly picked and grown as along my fence line.
Last batch of seeds harvested in 2025.
