Highly attractive to pollinators, this poppy readily self seeds in the garden.

Poppy seed should be sown directly where they are to be grown in the autumn for flowering in the spring. The seeds need light to germinate so should not be covered when planting. Thin plants to 20cm spacing once they have germinated. For use as a fresh cut flower the cut ends of the stems should be seared with a flame before being placed in water.

All our seed is open-pollinated and grown on our small and unruly plot in Central Victoria, Australia.
